Before you repaint Don’t treat the symptom. Find the cause.
When a coating fails, applying another coat may only hide the problem. Five questions to ask before recoating — and the six things UNF looks at before specifying anything.

When a coating fails, simply applying another coat may only hide the problem temporarily.
Before recoating, ask:
What failed?
Paint? Primer? Substrate? Adhesion?
Why did it fail?
Surface preparation? Environment? Product selection? Application?
How severe is it?
Local defect or widespread coating failure?
What is the environment?
Marine? Industrial? Coastal? Chemical? Indoor? Outdoor?
What should be done?
Repair locally, remove the existing system or specify a new coating system?
UNF’s approachDiagnose first. Coat second.
At UNF, we believe coating problems should be understood before they are repaired.
Our approach considers:
The right coating is not simply the one that looks good today.
It is the one that continues to perform tomorrow.
